Box & Fiddle Magazine August 2007 , Judith Linton
More Fergie fun at the big re-opening This album was released last year by Scotland’s famous duo, Phil and Aly but somehow escaped the See Hear pages then. We are treated to ten, yet again, excellent tracks and “the boys” have invited a couple of guest musicians for a few of the tracks, namely Anna Massie on guitars and Martin O’Neil on bohran. Phil has included twelve of his own tunes out of the nineteen recorded. It is always a delight to have new compositions from him because you just know they will be good tunes before you hear them This is quite a reflective collection with a fair few slower tempos included. I got the feeling while listening to this album it had a mature, full circle feel to it with the boys maybe entering a new phase of their lives’ musical paths This is another fantastic CD with impeccable musicianship throughout long may Aly and Phil continue with their musical gems.
